A Place To Start April 2025

Mañana empieza un nuevo reto en A Place To Start y el tema es negro, blanco y rojo, aunque también tenéis la opción de todo vale como siempre. En mi caso, con esa idea en mente, he hecho esta página de mi diario artístico.

Tomorrow a new challenge starts on A Place To Start and the theme is black, white and red, although you also have the option of anything goes as always. In my case, I've made this page of my art journal with that topic.

Primera entrada de este año y primer reto de A Place To Start. El tema es todo vale o incluir globos y yo he hecho esta página con el tema. Como veis he añadido tres globos 😜.

First post of the year and first challenge on A Place To Start. The theme is anything goes or to include a balloon or two and I've made this page with the topic. As you see I've added three balloons 😜.

My Time To Craft #542 Add Texture

Espero que os guste el tema del nuevo reto de My Time To Craft, que es incluye textura, porque ha sido idea mía. Ya sabéis que me gusta elegir temas sencillos con los que poder jugar mucho. Además, hacía tiempo que no publicaba ninguna página y este ha sido uno de esos proyectos que empiezan de una manera y acaban de otra totalmente distinta. Y encima, hay que añadir un parón entre medias por no tener inspiración para saber cómo acabar.

I hope you like the new theme of My Time To Craft challenge, that is "add texture", because it has been my idea. You've already known that I like to choose simple topics and so you can play a lot with it. Also, This page has been one of those projects that you start in one way and then you finish them in a totally different way. And furthermore, I have to add to that a long break because I didn't have any idea that inspired me to know how to finish it.

Ya sé, ya sé, hoy no es el día en el que normalmente publico, pero hay una buena razón para el cambio, ahora soy parte del equipo creativo de A Place To Start, un maravilloso blog donde no hay sólo retos también un montón de tutoriales y consejos.

I know, I know, today is not the day I normally post, but there is a good reason for the change, now I'm part of the design team of A Place To Start, a wonderful blog with challenges, tutorials and tips.

I Am No Bird

Hacía tiempo que no publicaba una página de mi diario artístico, así que he pensado que hoy era un día perfecto para hacerlo. Creo que es uno de los proyectos donde más he usado más plantillas, me encantan todas las capas y texturas que puedes crear con ellas.

I didn't publish a page from my art journal a time ago, so I've thought today was a perfect day to do. I think this is one of the projects where I've used more stencils, I love all the layers and textures you can create with them.

Words. Words. Words.

Después de unas cuantas tarjetas en las últimas entradas os enseño una página de mi diario artístico llena de color y contraste. Con cada página me siento más cómoda y eso me ayuda a jugar más con mi material y mis dibujos.

After a few cards in my last posts I show you a page of my art journal full of colour and contrast. I feel more comfortable with every page and that helps me to play more with my stuff and my drawings.

Portrait of a Lady

Ya os he contado otras veces que hay proyectos que planifico y otros que simplemente comienzo y cada ciertos días o semanas continuo, esta página pertenece al segundo grupo, primero empecé a trabajar con mis pinturas acrílicas en el fondo.

I've already told you other times there are projects I plan and others I just start them and every certain days or weeks I carry on, this page belongs to the second group, first I started to work with my acrilycs paints on the background.

Etude des Portraits

Cuando empecé a trabajar en estas páginas no pensé que al final incluiría dos de mis dibujos en ellas, simplemente hice como otras veces, preparar el fondo y jugar con mis plantillas.

When I started to work on these pages I never thought at the end I would include two of my drawings on them, I simply did as other times, to start to prepare the background and to play with my stencils.

La página de hoy está inspirada en mi libro favorito de Jane Austen, Persuasión, si por encima de Orgullo y Prejuicio, una historia sobre segundas oportunidades y esperanzas que me encanta y no sé cuántas veces he leído ya.

Today's page is inspired by my favourite Jane Austen's book, Persuasion, yeah it's even above Pride and Prejudice, a story about second chances and hopes I love and I don't know how many times I've read it.

I'm Defying the Queen of Insecurities

Hoy os traigo una página muy especial porque es la primera vez que incorporo un dibujo de un retrato a uno de mis proyectos, no es perfecto, pero sabéis qué, no me importa, no quería algo precioso, maravilloso, quería hacer algo que fuera parte de mí.

Today I show you a very special page because is the first time I add a portrait drawing to one of my projects, it's not perfect, but you know what, I don't mind, I didn't want anything beautiful, wonderful, I wanted to do something that was a part of me.

Time to Make Decisions

Esos momentos donde tienes que tomar una decisión pueden ser eternos o pasar rápidamente y eso ha inspirado esta página, quería reflejar ese agobio de ahí que sean tonos oscuros los que predominen esta vez.

Those moments where you have to make a decision can be never-ending or pass fast that has inspired this page, I wanted to show that stress for that reason dark tones are the protagonists this time.

I'm Flying Away

Aunque últimamente no os he enseñado nada de mi diario artístico no significa que no esté trabajando en él, tengo unas cuantas páginas acabadas, como ésta llena de texturas y capas.

Esta página refleja muy bien una de mis pasiones los libros, me encanta leer y el olor a libro nuevo, si soy de las que todavía leen libros en papel jejeje, así que como os podéis imaginar cuando vi a esta maravillosa dama en la web The Old Desing Shop tenía que usarla en mi diario artístico.

This page shows very well one of my passions books, I love reading and the smell of a new book, yeah! I'm one of these people who still read paper books hehehe, so as you can imagine when I saw this wonderful lady at the website The Old Desing Shop I had to use it in my art journal.

The Fairies Dance

Cuando empecé a trabajar en estas dos páginas no tenía ni idea que acabaría haciendo algo tan colorido y lleno de flores, cuando terminé el fondo me encantaba pero sentía que le faltaba algo, y entonces vi estas maravillosas hadas en la galería de fotos de la British Library y supe que eran lo que necesitaba.

When I started to work in these two pages I didn't think I would make something so colourful and full of flowers, when I finished the background I loved it but I felt it needed something more, and then I saw these wonderful fairies in the gallery of the British Library and I knew they were what I needed.

In Full Bloom

Marzo es un mes especial para mí, los días son más largos, hace una temperatura ideal y empiezan a salir las primeras flores, todo esto ha inspirado las páginas de mi diario, como veis están llenas de vida.

March is a special month for me, days are longer, we have a perfect temperature and flowers start to bloom, all these things have inspired the pages of my journal, as you see they are full of life.
