The Fairies Dance

Cuando empecé a trabajar en estas dos páginas no tenía ni idea que acabaría haciendo algo tan colorido y lleno de flores, cuando terminé el fondo me encantaba pero sentía que le faltaba algo, y entonces vi estas maravillosas hadas en la galería de fotos de la British Library y supe que eran lo que necesitaba.

When I started to work in these two pages I didn't think I would make something so colourful and full of flowers, when I finished the background I loved it but I felt it needed something more, and then I saw these wonderful fairies in the gallery of the British Library and I knew they were what I needed.

Con mis ceras, una plantilla y unas toallitas de bebé hice el fondo, me encanta esta técnica, como se mezclan los colores y se difuminan, luego con unos sellos, tintas negra, blanca y cobre, pasta de textura y polvos negros con brillo añadí los textos y formas que veis.

I made the background with my pigment sticks, a stencil and a baby wipes, I love this technique and the way colours mix and blend, after that I added the texts and the shapes you see with a stamps, black, white and copper inks, texture paste and shimmer black powders.

Como no quería recargar demasiado las páginas sólo he estampado las flores y no las he coloreado. Ya sólo quedaba transferir la imagen y para darle vida he usado esta vez mis acuarelas.

As I didn't want to overdecorate the pages I've only stamped the flowers and I haven't coloured them. Then I just had to transfer the image and to give it life I've used this time my watercolours.

Para acabar hice la frase llena de garabatos y además remarqué ciertas partes con un rotulador color cobre. Como veis al final conseguí el equilibrio perfecto, unas páginas llenas de color pero sin excesos.

To finish I drew the sentiment full of doodles and I highlighted some parts with a copper marker. As you see at the end I got the perfect balance, a pages full of colour but not too much.
