Letters from Past

Si os digo la verdad empecé estas páginas intentando aprovechar toda la tinta que había impregnado en una plantilla, así que con un rodillo la estampé y a partir de ahí y en diferentes momentos en los que me venía alguna idea las acabé, a continuación os cuento más.

If I tell you the truth I started these pages just trying to use all the ink I had sprayed on a stencil, so with a brayer I stamped it and from that point and in different moments when I got a new idea I finished them, now I tell you more.

Un día se me ocurrió pegar unos trocitos de papel cebolla estampado y después pintar encima con acuarelas en tonos azules, a continuación hice la técnica del ghosting con otra plantilla, ya la había utilizado antes como por ejemplo en esta entrada y me encanta, crea unos efectos preciosos, se puede ver todavía el fondo blanco de las páginas donde está el papel pegado y en el resto se aprecia muy bien los bordes de la plantilla.

One day it came to my mind another idea, I glued a pieces of tissue wrap and after that I painted with a blue watercolors, then I made the ghosting technique with another stencil, I had already used it before as for example in this post and I love it, it creates a beautiful effects, you can still see the white background in the tissue paper and in the rest you can see very well the edges of the stencil.

Pasaron otros días más y bueno no me terminaba de convencer el fondo azul, así que cogí mis Distress Inks en tonos amarillos y lo cambié, aunque todavía queda un poco de azul difuminado creando una combinación genial. Para acabar hice la frase con mis bolis, empecé con unas letras finas y después ya trabajé en los diferentes anchos y bordes que añadí. El toque final fueron esas dos formas troqueladas que añadí a cada lado de la frase.

After a few days I wasn't still sure about the background so I picked my Distress Inks in yellow tones and I changed it, although there is still a bit of blurred blue that creates a great mixture. To finish I made the sentiment with my pens, I started with a thin letters and after that I started to work in the different wides and borders. The final touch was those die-cuts I added to each side of the sentiment.

Bueno como veis el proyecto ha salido poco a poco, improvisando, hay veces que me gusta planificar más las cosas y otras como ésta que surgen solas, creo que los dos sistemas son igual de buenos, ¿qué os parece?.

Well as you see I've made the projects in different stages, I've been improvising, there are times where I like to plan more everything and others as this one when you make things without thinking so much, I think the both ways of working are very good options, what do you think?.
