DIY IV: una cajita para guardar troqueles

Normalmente guardo mis troqueles en la cajita de la que os hablé en esta entrada, pero esa ya está llena del todo y tengo unos cuantos que son un pelín más grandes y no caben en ella, así que ya tenía la excusa perfecta para decorar una nueva.

I normally keep my die-cuts in the box I showed you in this post, but that one is almost full and I have some die-cut than are a bit bigger than it, so I just had the perfect excuse to decorate a new one.

Lo primero que he hecho es pegar el papel que he elegido con Multi Medium Matte en la tapa y la base, lo he estirado bien, he dado otra capa del médium más para protegerlo y he dejado secar. A continuación en los laterales tanto del interior como del exterior he añadido una capa de gesso blanco.

The first thing I`ve made is to glue the paper I had chosen with a bit of Multi Medium Matte on the lid and base, I've smoothed it out well, I've added another layer more of the medium to protect it and I've let it dry. After that I've painted the sides of the box in the inside and outside with white gesso.

Cuando ha secado bien he cogido unas pinturas acrílicas de diferentes colores y he pintado en el gesso, no me he parado a pensar en que hacer, sólo he improvisado y he estado jugando con los colores, cuando he visto que me gustaba el fondo creado he parado. Como veis también le he dado un toquecillo de color a las esquinas y laterales de la tapa y la base.

When it has dried well I've taken different colours of acrylic paints and I painted the gesso, I haven't thought in what I should do, I've just improvised and I've been playing with the colours, when I've seen I liked the background I had made I've stopped. As you see I have also given a touch of colour on the corners and the sides of the cover and the base.

Para acabar en el interior he pegado dos papeles diferentes para la tapa y el fondo, al de la tapa le he añadido también unos bordes que he hecho con washi tape. En el exterior no he querido decorar mucho, el papel es precioso y quería que destacase, lo único que he puesto es la palabra troqueles con unas letras de un abecedario que tenía.

To finish I've glued two papers in the inside for the lid and the background, I've added washi tape to the edges of the paper of the lid. Outside I haven't wanted to decorate much, the paper is beautiful and I wanted it was the spotlight, the only thing I've added is the word troqueles (die-cuts in English) with sticker letters of an alphabet I get.

Como veis con muy poquitas cosas he cambiado el aspecto de una caja marrón aburrida, no hace falta mucho, sólo un poco de tiempo y de imaginación y ahora tengo esta preciosidad lista para guardar un montón de cosas. 

As you see with no many little things I've changed the look of a boring brown box, you don't need much, a bit of time and imagination and now I get this beautiful thing ready to keep a lot of stuff.
